And we are off......

It's 8:38am on Saturday morning and we are getting ready to go I guess I was so excited last night that I barely slept. I hate when I go on vacation and get so excited the night before that I can't sleep. It wouldn't be such a big deal but I'm the type of person that doesn't sleep well unless I'm in my own bed.  I guess this will be a sleepless three weeks for me. However, I've got my sleeping pills just in case it gets too bad. Well, I just wanted to leave a little message before I left. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Labor Day!! See you in three weeks!!

3 More days till Italy/Romania.....I can't wait!!

I'm counting down the days until I leave for my trip. I'm so excited to go to another country and just see how other people live. Isn't it weird how different and free you feel when you go on vacation. It's almost like you are having an outer body experience. You have more energy, you try/do things you might not normally do and everything is fun and exciting. I can't wait to just sit outside at a cafe and people watch. I just hope that people aren't watching me thinking "look at the dumb American tourist." I feel like I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb and everyone will know I'm an American. Do you think they will know I'm not one of them?

Happy Birthday - La Multi Ani!

Today is my best friend's birthday and I just wanted to wish him a happy 31st!!! He's from Romania and he has a new nephew that he has never met. His nephew's name is Patrick and he just sent his Uncle George a Happy Birthday....isn't that sweet!! We are going to meet the little guy when we are in Romania in a few weeks.

My first post!!!

Hi, and welcome to my blog, avintagebliss. I am a 36 year old single woman living in the city. I live in a small one bedroom bungalow in a great little neighborhood called Cabbagetown. I love antiques....anything old really, working on my 100+ year old house and decorating. I am in the process of opening an online shop that will carry a unique mix of old and new home decor, accessories and gifts. I'm hoping it will be open by the 1st of November 2010. I will let everyone know once it has opened so please check back. 


I'm also leaving on a trip to Italy/Romania in 5 days! I would love to be able to travel the world looking for unique and exciting items to put in my shop. While my trip to Italy wasn't planned as a business trip, I am hoping that while I'm there I will have time to look for some goodies to put in my shop.....fingers crossed!!
